Özet:
The purpose of this study is to compare the perception of the glass ceiling
syndrome among women employed in the private and public sectors. To achieve this
aim, a survey was conducted with 200 women working in the public sector and 200
women in the private sector residing in Istanbul. The survey consisted of two
sections: the "Socio-Demographic Form" and the "Glass Ceiling Syndrome Scale."
The results revealed that women working in the public sector exhibited more positive
attitudes regarding personal preferences, perceptions, and informal communication
networks compared to their counterparts in the private sector. However, no
significant differences were found in the other sub-dimensions of the Glass Ceiling
Syndrome Scale based on the sector of employment.
