Özet
This chapter examines the integration of technology in consecutive interpreting (CI), driven by advancements in speech technologies, computing power and hardware, and generative artificial intelligence. It takes stock of various innovations that have been designed and conceptualised for the CI process and discusses the development and implementation of computer-assisted interpreting (CAI) tools tailored for CI. By analysing existing literature, the chapter also provides insights into the functionalities and impact of hybrid modalities, digital pen–supported tools, and ASR-assisted solutions. It concludes with an overview of current trends, challenges, and future directions in the technologisation of CI.
